REQUIREMENTS:
1. The gauges in this specification sheet shall be used to assure quality conformance of the
M22442/2-1 and M22442/2-2 connectors.
2. The contractor shall furnish certification of the mechanical gauge dimensions in
accordance with MIL-G-10944 at the time of acceptance inspection of mechanical gauges. A
tool number (serial number) will be assigned each mechanical gauge at time of acceptance by
the Government and the contractor shall etch the number on the respective tool. If gauges
have been certified by another Government agency they will be acceptable.
*3. Mechanical gauges shall be used only for qualification First Article and quality
conformance inspection in accordance with the specification.
4. The contractor shall make mechanical gauges available to the Government Quality
Assurance representative in accordance with inspection requirements specified in the
contract.
*5. The steel shall be in accordance with ASTM A681 Type F2 or Type A2 or equivalent (as
approved by the qualifying activity).
6. All non-gauging surfaces shall be finished in accordance with MIL-G-10944.
7. Screw threads shall be in accordance with FED-STD-H28.
8. Mechanical fits shall be in accordance with MIL-G-10944.
*9. The aluminum shall be in accordance with ASTM B211, Alloy 2024, Temper 3511 or
equivalent (as approved by the qualifying activity).
